ACCUTRON Spaceview Repair & Restoration

Accutron Spaceview repair and restoration is our SPECIALTY, including case re-plating services, case repair, Spaceview crystals, and Genuine Spaceview Parts.  We professionally handle all types of restoration projects, with over 65 (combined) years of experience!

We are the only service center recommended by Bulova for all their vintage Accutrons including the famous Accutron Spaceview,  Accutron Astronaut, and their the entire line of great Accutron Tuning Fork Watches.  Vintage Accutrons have been a favorite or ours since 1995 when we were coined "The Authority on Accutron", and we repair approximately 1,000 Accutrons each year.  We have a full staff of watchmakers as well as a jeweler.  Each is a highly skilled and Certified or Master watchmaking professional.   All have received specific Accutron repair training from a Bulova Corp. watchmaking instructor.  In addition, each of our watchmakers attends continuing education classes either at AWCI or WOSTEP in Switzerland.  This is essential in staying abreast of new technologies and advances in the field.

Packing & Shipping
Pack your watch in a box that's about 10" X 6" X 4" in size, or a size not easily lost by the carrier.  We recommend wrapping the item in bubble-wrap, and then packing in styrofoam peanuts or void air bags.
We suggest using USPS Registered Mail, Insured for shipping your Spaceview.  Other carriers limit insurance to $500 for jewelry items. 

Make no reference to the contents on the outside of the package.  Our address label, at the bottom of the Spaceview Repair Form, may be used for USPS Mail.

Shortly after your package arrives, we'll notify you with a detailed written estimate for repair.  We'll then wait to hear from you before proceeding. 

Package carefully, but Use only packing that can be discarded. 
 

Repair Estimates
We have a $65 Estimate Fee for vintage watches.  This includes a watchmaker's diagnosis of needed repairs, detailed written estimate, and return shipping and insurance by Federal Express.  If, after obtaining your approval, we perform the repairs, the
Estimate is FREE.

Please allow adequate turn-around time.
As the largest Accutron and Accutron Spaceview repair facility in the U.S., turnaround time can vary depending on a number of factors including complexity, parts availability, and the number of repairs currently in progress.  Our current turnaround time is 3 - 5 weeks.  Your patience is always appreciated!

Repair Warranty
Unless otherwise stated, Old Father Time Repairs are warranted, to our customers, for timekeeping, for a period of six months from the date of original repair. While perfection is always our goal, no warranties are, or can be, made regarding achieving the accuracy standards of timekeeping asserted by the original manufacturers when these watches were NEW. Timekeeping is adjusted as originally prescribed by the manufacturer at the time of return shipment to the customer, and has been found to be consistent for at least 7 days prior to shipment.  However, it is mutually understood that these watches are now antiques. As with any finer timepiece, and as is clearly stated in the Manufacturer's literature, adjustments to timekeeping ARE SOMETIMES necessary after any repair or overhaul and while the watch adjusts to the owner's normal use.  We've found that adjustments can also be required after  "rough shipping".  New problems can also arise after the initial repair is performed .   We will, therefore, make timekeeping adjustments throughout the warranty period as needed, however, our warranty does not apply to wear and tear, abuse, or tampering, and excludes batteries, case, strap or bracelet, crystals, electronic coils and return shipping costs.
